Ingredients
Urad dal- 1 cup
Rajma - 1/2 cup
Red chilli powder - 1 tsp.
Refined oil - 1 tsp.
Ginger - 1/2 tbsp. finely chopped
Garlic - 6 flakes
Onion - 1 finely chopped
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp.
Coriander powder - 1 tsp.
Fresh cream - 4 tbsp
Desi ghee - 1 tbsp.
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp.
Asafeotida powder - pinch
Salt to taste
Method:
1. Soak dal and rajma overnight
2. Add oil, ginger, salt in dal and boil them for 30 minutes. You may pressure cook for 3-4 whistles
3. Heat a pan with ghee and add cumin seeds till they start sputtering, then add asafeotida powder, garlic and fry till brown
4. Now add onions and fry them until brown
5. Add garam masala, red chilli powder in the pan. Add to the cooked dal. Cook for another 10 minutes and switch off the heat
6. Finally add cream to the dal and mix it in dal slowly
7. Garnish it with coriander in the end and serve hot with Chappati
