Crispy Dosai - South Indian Special
Dosai is a very famous South Indian recipe made from rice flour. The secret to crispy dosai is preparing the rice flour and fermentation. Coconut chutney, Onion chutney, tomato chutney & sambar are suitable side dishes
Dosai Ingredients
Cups rice - 4 Cup (Either idli rice from Indian stores or long grain rice from stores)
urad dhal - 1 Cup
Methi seeds - 5-6 Numbers
Salt - To taste
Dosai Preparing Method
1. Soak rice, urad dhal, methi for two hours hours. Grind the rice with little water until it becomes smooth
2. Grind urad dhal and methi for 18- 20 mts
3. Mix both the batter together with salt and ferment it for 8-10 hours
4. Pour it in Dosai tava and serve
Chutney is the suitable side dish for dosai. Dosa and Dosai are same. There are many variants of Dosai that can be prepared by adding Onion, Potato masala, masala powder, cauliflower, and other vegetable variants in the middle of dosai.
