Cabbage Idli, a South Indian recipe that can be presented as a variety of idli rather than the regular Idli for the children.

Ingredients
Par boiled rice - 250gms
Grated cabbage - 150gms
Chilli powder- 3 tsp
Turmeric / Haldi powder- 1tsp
Asafoetida- 2tsp
Salt- 2tsp

Cabbage Idli Preparing Method
1. Soak the rice for 3 hours
2. Coarsely grind all the ingredients except cabbage. The batter must be thicker than that of idli batter
3. Add the grated cabbage into the batter and mix well. Make idlis of this batter and cook for 15mins on simmer in an idli cooker
4. Serve with coconut oil over the idlis and serve hot with pickle or chilli chutney
. Option: Before making into idlies, the batter can be allowed to ferment for 3-4 hours
