Drumstick soup - Traditional recipe

Red gram dhal - 1/2 cup
Drumstick - 2
Onion - 1
Tomato - 3
Green chillies - 2
Ginger - 1 piece
Garlic - 4
coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
Salt - to taste
Coconut milk - 1/2 cup
Lemon juice - to taste
For powder:
Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Cumin seeds - 1/4 teaspoon
Method:
1. Pressure cook the dhal with turmeric powder
2. Finely chop the onion and tomato
3. Cut the drumstick into 3'' pieces
4. Powder the pepper, cumin seeds
5. Peel the ginger, garlic and grind them coarsely
6. Add 2 cups of water in the cooked dhal
7. Add garlic paste, pressure cook for 2 whistles
8. Remove from cooker, filter it in the sieve
9. Add enough coconut milk or lemon juice and serve.
