Beetroot - 1
Onion - 1
Tomato - 2
Red-gram dhal - 1 cup
To grind:
Green chillies - 1
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Garlic - 2
Curry leaves - few
Ginger - 1 small piece
Salt - to taste
To Saute:
Ghee - 2 teaspoon
Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
Fennel seeds - 1/2 teaspoon
Bay leaf - 1
Beetroot Soup Preparing Method:
1. Peel the beetroot and cut them
2. Cut the onions and tomatoes
3. Grind all the ingredients coarsely
4. Pressure cook the dhal with 4 cups of water
5. Heat the ghee in a cooker, saute with pepper and fennel seeds
6. Add the ground items and fry for few minutes
7. Add the onions, tomatoes and beetroot, fry for 5 minutes
8. Meanwhile separate the cooked dhal and water
9. Add this 3 cups of dhal water to beetroot and cool for one whistle
10. Then sieve the beetroot mixture and serve hot. Few pieces of beetroot can be added while serving.
