Ingredients
Rice flakes - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Ghee - 6 tsp
Cardomom - 4
Kesari powder(food colour - orange) - a pinch
Cashewnuts - 8
Raisens - 10
Preparing Method
1. Roast rice flakes slightly in 3 teaspoons of ghee
2. Add 1/2 cup of boiling water to the rice flake and cook until it is fully boiled
3. Add sugar, kesari powder, and cardomoms to the mix
4. Stir continuously in low flame until the ghee separates
5. Fry the cashewnuts and raisens in the remaining ghee and mix with it.
This is generally called as Aval Kesari in Tamilnadu. This recipe tastes like Sakkarai Pongal and Kesari.
