Coimbatore: In an endeavour of friendliness and gesture, the city Police Commissioner, C. Sylendra Babu, has announced that any city police personnel wish to celebrate his/her birthday could avail of permission instead of turning up for the duty.

The list of personnel and officers celebrating the birthday would be greeted in advance by the city police officer on duty on the day as well as over the VHS wireless from the control room.
