Training for students to guide conference delegates
COIMBATORE: Bharathiar University will organise a training programme for nearly 1,000 post-graduate students from its departments and affiliated colleges to guide the delegates arriving in Coimbatore for the World Classical Tamil Conference to be held in June.
According to Vice-Chancellor C. Swaminathan the selected students will be trained by the university staff as well as government representatives in the various skills involved in receiving and escorting the guests from the place of arrival to the conference venue and also their place of stay.
It was also planned to hold a meeting of Tamil teachers of colleges on January 28 under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University M. Rajendran to decide themes for creating floats for the conference.
Themes
“Nearly 100 floats will be made based on a single theme.
The meeting will come up with some themes that will be forwarded to the Chief Minister who will make the final decision,” Mr. Swaminathan added.
