Science workshop for children
COIMBATORE: The Rotary Club of Coimbatore East will conduct Junior Einstein, a do-it-yourself science workshop here from April 19 to May 1.
The 12-day workshop will have sessions on industrial design, ‘Making your own steam engine', ‘Making your own speaker', electronics project, ‘Build multi-tone electronic alarm', ‘Aero modelling – build a glider' and more.
Children will work on practical science projects, and go on field visits. Fire fighting techniques, hearing restoration, sinus allergy and white water rafting will also be covered. Doctors, engineers, innovators and entrepreneurs will interact with them.
This year, the students will visit the Airport Control Tower and Sharp Industrial Training Centre.
The programme is designed to help the students identify their areas of interest in a subject.
Besides, they will be encouraged to plant saplings. About 20 eligible students from Government schools and orphanages will also participate in the programme free of cost.

The programme, to be held at The Coimbatore Club, Race Course, is open for students of classes VI to XII (those aged between 12 and 18). The last date for registration for the early bird offer is April 6.
