COIMBATORE: The Planters’ Association of Tamil Nadu has appealed to the State Government to establish a fire station at Kotagiri.

Association chairman Prashant Bhansali has said in a release that a fire accident in a tea factory located at Kilkotagiri village in Kotagiri Taluk last week had damaged almost the entire factory. The nearest fire station was at Coonoor, which was about 40 km away from the factory, and fire tenders were asked from Udhagamandalam too.

A separate fire station should be established.
