COIMBATORE: Techno4, an exhibition of motors, rotating machinery, pumps, ancillaries, foundries and light engineering, to be held here in April will have pavilions for micro and small units.

The three-day fair will be organised by the Southern India Engineering Manufacturers’ Association (SIEMA) and Orbitz Exhibitions from April 9.

Jayakumar Ramdass, president of the association, told presspersons here on Monday that SIEMA and Orbitz signed an agreement on February 1, last year to conduct exhibitions for the four sectors. The event would have 150 stalls. The fair would have five overseas participants and nearly 300 visitors from other countries. Seminars would be held on all the three days. The fair was expected to generate Rs. 500 crore business.

Rupan Vikamsey, Managing Director of Orbitz, said Coimbatore was an important hub for foundries, pumpset manufacturing and light engineering.

Participations would be from Gujarat, Punjab, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu.

Vice-President of the association T.C. Thiagarajan said a leading motor manufacturer from the United States and pumpset manufacturers from Taiwan had confirmed their participation. The Engineering Export Promotion Council would send out invites for the fair through its overseas offices.
