Coimbatore: All the 422 ordinary buses will continue to be operated on the roads in Coimbatore City in addition to the 200 semi-low-floor and air buses introduced recently, a release from the Transport Secretary to Government said on Friday.

The release pointed out that 422 ordinary buses and 50 semi-low-floor buses were already on city roads and an additional 150 buses were inducted on February 1.

Of the 150 buses, 50 buses would be replacement for the already operated semi-low-floor buses and 100 would be operated as additional services. Public could continue to use the ordinary buses as usual. These 200 additional buses would be an option for the passengers willing to pay extra and travel in comfort.

School and college students could continue to use the passes in both ordinary as well as semi-low-floor buses.
