No sale of liquor, meat on March 28

COIMBATORE: The Coimbatore Corporation said on Wednesday that the sale of meat would be prohibited on March 28 on account of Mahaveer Jayanthi.
A press release from the civic body said stalls selling mutton, chicken, beef and pork should remain closed on that day.
Stringent action would be taken against any stall that sold meat that day.
District Collector P. Umanath has announced that in view of Mahavir Jayanthi on March 28, all Tamil Nadu State Marketing Corporation (TASMAC) run liquor shops should remain closed in the district.
