Coimbatore: The Transport Department has commenced annual motor vehicle tax collection from March 26.

The collection would go on till April 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on all working days excepting Sundays and Government holidays.

Deputy Transport Commissioner, Coimbatore, M. Vijayakumarasamy has urged the tax remitters to remit their taxes on all working days at the respective RTO offices and Motor Vehicle Inspectors unit offices in Coimbatore and Erode districts.

Registration certificates

A release from M. Natarajan, Regional Transport Officer (South) said that counters would function at RTO (South) office in Peelamedu, Stock Exchange premises on Tiruchi Road in Ramanathapuram area. The tax payers should bring the original registration certificate, insurance certificate and Pollution under Control certificate.

Vehicles that are 15 years old should remit green tax of Rs. 500 for motor cycles and Rs. 1,000 for light motor vehicles.
