Coimbatore: District Collector P. Umanath has announced that gram sabha meetings will be conducted in all village panchayats on the Republic Day at public places.

The meetings would discuss the implementation of Kalaignar Housing Scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme with an increased wages of Rs. 100, National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme audit, library and sports contests in all Anna Renaissance Scheme villages, financial details of the panchayats from October 2009 to December 2010, approving the list of beneficiaries under the Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension schemes, child labour abolition, etc.
