COIMBATORE: Micro and small-scale units will find it easier to receive benefits from Government schemes and bank assistance if they get quality standard certification, Cluster Manager of APITCO (formerly known as Andhra Pradesh Industrial and Technical Consultancy Organisation) A. Sreedhar said at a meeting with the Tamil Nadu Association of Micro and Cottage Enterprises here recently.

A two-day meeting was organised by the association to create awareness among its members on quality standards.

Assistant Engineer of the District Industries Centre Asha said the micro and cottage units were the backbone of the large-scale manufacturing units. Hence, the State and Central Governments offered several schemes for the sector. Taking into consideration the practical problems faced by the units and the time lost in getting Government approvals, several procedures were made online now.
