Coimbatore: Southern Railway, Salem Division, has announced changes in the operation of trains at Coimbatore for one week from March 25 to March 31 owing to non-interlocked working in Coimbatore area.

In connection with Gauge conversion-cum-doubling of Coimbatore - Podanur section, non-interlocked working of trains will be introduced in the section from March 25 to March 31. (Non-interlocked working of trains refers to movement of trains at slow speed with hand signals instead of automatic signals, since the automatic signals will be temporarily switched off till the new lines are connected at various points in the section). All through trains running via Coimbatore Junction will be diverted via Irugur – Podanur – Irugur section. These trains would stop at Podanur Junction.

The following trains will not stop at Coimbatore Junction. Instead they will stop at Podanur Junction from midnight of March 24 to midnight of March 31:.
