BSNL 3G services launch today
Coimbatore: Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A. Raja is launching the 3G services of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Coimbatore and Udhagamandalam, at Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam here on Saturday.
First call
The inaugural will take place in the presence of Minister for Rural Industries and Animal Husbandry Pongalur N. Palanisamy. The first inaugural video call will be made by Mr. Raja and will be received by Minister for Khadi and Village Industries K. Ramachandran in Udhagamandalam.
3G customers could make video calls, watch live TV, transmit data, receive e-mails, download music tracks and video entertainment, view news and current affairs, enjoy sports contents and make video messaging with a 3G enabled phone while on travelling also.
Tariff
The tariff for 3G is 30 paise per minute for local video and voice calls and 50 paise for STD calls.
A BSNL expo, demonstration of BSNL 3G and discount on 3G SIM cards have been arranged at the venue.
