Coimbatore: The District Environment Engineer, Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, has appealed to the people to refrain from burning artificial products such as tyre, rubber, and plastic on Wednesday to mark the Bhogi festival. Burning of such products for Bhogi and part of Pongal festival would only result in polluting the atmosphere and thereby cause health hazards. Hence, the public are requested to resort to an eco-friendly Bhogi and Pongal celebration.
