Location: Narasampathy lake is located west of Coimbatore city adjacent to Thondamuthur road. It is situated west of Krishnampathy lake.

Inlet and outlets:
Narsampathy is the first lake to receive water from the Noyyal River through Chitrachavadi anicut channel. It also receives runoff from a stream course coming from the Maruthumalai forest area. The tank has one masonry weir of length 14.10 located near Veerakeralam village.
No of Inlets – 4 (1 canal and 3 sewage inlets)
No of Outlets – 3 (1 Weir dam and 2 sluices)
Encroachments – Yes
The Government has allotted 5.06 acres of land to TNAU and there are about 150 huts located on the bund covering an area of 6.00 acres. The total extent of encroachment is 12.00 acres.
Agriculture – Yes
Fishing – Yes
When water stagnates in the lake, fishing activity takes place for at least three to four months. Fishing is taken up by a society. On an average 20 metric tons of harvest is obtained per annum.
